Collection: Charles IX
On May 1, 1561, it is said that a young Charles IX was gifted a sprig of lily of the valley ( Muget) from one of his knights as a good luck token. The king liked the idea so much that he decreed that the blooms should be distributed every year to each of the ladies of his court. Word soon spread, and the practice was embraced beyond the palace gates. And thus began in France the Fête du Muguet, otherwise known as May Day.
This elegant fragrance is a delightful bouquet of sweet-smelling freesias and delicate muget, perfectly intertwined with the luscious scent of ripened pears and delicate rose. This light floral elegance offers a truly enchanting aroma creating a fragrance that is both fresh and refined.
